BISP Chairperson Dr. Amjad Saqib Affirms Commitment to Aid One Crore Deserving Families

Chairperson Dr. Muhammad Amjad Saqib of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) expressed a steadfast commitment to aiding approximately one crore deserving families. Speaking at the City University Mosque in Peshawar to a gathering of BISP employees, Dr. Saqib stressed the moral obligation to alleviate financial hardships faced by needy families and outlined a strategic plan to uplift them from poverty.

Underlining BISP’s possession of authentic data pertaining to deserving families, Dr. Amjad Saqib called upon philanthropists to embrace the principles of ‘Mawakat’, encouraging collaboration to bolster support for underprivileged families. He suggested the establishment of an endowment fund specifically aimed at the welfare of these families. During his address, Dr. Saqib advocated for connecting children from impoverished backgrounds with technical skill areas, thereby fostering comprehensive development.

Furthermore, Dr. Saqib emphasized the importance of engaging in dialogue with Point of Sale (POS) agents for stipend payments, aiming to ensure transparency in the process. His visit to the BISP Tehsil Office in Peshawar involved personal interaction with needy women, directing staff to utilize available resources in providing necessary facilities. Stressing the significance of maintaining cleanliness standards in offices, Dr. Saqib encouraged kindness towards needy women, emphasizing, “It is our collective responsibility to make the Benazir Income Support Program an exemplary institution.”
